We started Handpicked Publishing because we were tired of stale, predictable books in overused "popular" genres. We're readers and writers first and foremost, and we know that most big publishers only want to repeat sure bets. So we're shaping new terrain where extraordinary individuals use well-crafted prose to bring the reader along on unique experiences. We hope you will join us for the ride.

Handpicked Publishing Philosophy: We're unconventional and proud of it! We believe there is a place in our world for carefully selected, never-been-done-before books offering unique perspectives and sold only on our website and through author appearances.
We Support Authors: Each book you buy from Handpicked Publishing directly supports the creative talent behind that book to a much greater degree than in conventional big-name publishing. While conventional author royalties for books are in the 8-15% range (and 15% is usually only reached after 10,000 copies are sold), at Handpicked Publishing we put 45%-50% of what you pay for each book, starting with book one, right back into our authors' pockets. We can do this in large part by not utilizing third party mega-sellers who normally take a substantial cut of the proceeds of each book.
We Respect Creator's Rights: In addition, our authors and illustrators retain the copyright on their books and all related materials.
Customer Satisfaction: We know that using well-known outlets might result in a larger volume of sales, but we also know that on many of those outlets, issues with "out-of-stock" titles often create delays and disappointments for the reader. We are in control of our own stock and when a book is purchased directly from us we can guarantee availability at all times. We exist for the authors and artists who have given us the privilege of offering their work to you here, and to make sure every buyer is a happy, satisfied, reader.
Book Submissions? We love authors! Unfortunately, we are unable to review any manuscripts for the indefinite future as we already have a full slate of books in process for publication in 2016 and beyond. We cannot respond to materials sent to us at this time. Please sign up if you would like to be notified in the future when we are able to accept author queries and submissions.
More 'Books You Come Back To' in 2016 and beyond: We have chosen Doctor in Blue to be our inaugural book, with at least three more Handpicked books scheduled to be completed and published in early 2016.
